Moody RadioI can be clumsy in my Christian walk. Some days it feels like I keep on stumbling. It’s funny how quickly I forget that it’s not up to me alone to keep from stumbling. Yeah, God wants me to put my shoes on and start walking, but He’s the one who promises to keep me from stumbling.
What would it look like to have just one goal in mind for the next year? What would your life look like if this was your only goal each day? What would you stop doing that’s taking up all of your time? What would you start doing in order to accomplish this one goal?
Do you ever feel unsure whether God really likes you? We humans are a funny bunch. We believe God loves the world, because, well, he’s God, but when it comes to me myself and I, we spend too much time wondering whether God is really pleased with us. God loves and delights in us because He is love. He doesn’t deliver us out of duty or because He has to, but because He loves us.
When it comes to your dating life, who is building your house? Instead of trying so hard for perfection, why not spend some extra time in prayer today, telling the Lord how much you need His help in building your house for His glory?
When it comes to our walk with the Lord, too many of us are sadly more like the cats. We think it’s all about us. We assume it’s God’s job to please us, or at least we act that way. Whether you’re a dog person or a cat person, let’s make it our goal to be a little bit more like a dog. Let’s live like it’s all about the Lord and live with one aim to please Him.
Many of us want to be faithful in our time with the Lord. But we miss one day and then two. What if we resolved to get back at it again? Every relationship you and I want will grow if we spend time on it. We can learn a new language if we just keep showing up and practicing.
How do you define success? Success in God’s eyes is simply doing God’s will in God’s way and in God’s timing. Success is faithfulness and steadfast endurance. Success is overcoming temptation and standing firm in the faith. Success is about the person I’m becoming no matter the results that come my way.
Most of us are a lot like Moses. We think we’re somebodies until we get to the end of ourselves and realize we’re more like nobodies. Whether its because of our failures or our disappointments, we eventually realize we’re nobodies. And it’s in our place of brokenness that God steps in and finally helps us see that with His help, even a nobody can become a somebody.
How do you see yourself today? Whose prisoner are you really? Paul simply saw himself as a prisoner of the Lord Jesus Christ, and that made all the difference in his life
When it comes to the family of God, we forget that each of us is part of the body of Christ. We each make up a part of the whole. We tend to think that we’re the piece of the puzzle that doesn’t matter as much. Yet ask anyone who has ever put together a puzzle and they’ll tell you that every piece of that puzzle matters.
We have a Savior who not only hears us, but can do something about our fears. He delivers us from them. While I may not know exactly how he does it, I can rest assured in the fact that he is a Father who hears us and is able to deliver us from every little thing we’re afraid of.
Do you ever look at your to-do list and feel overwhelmed by it? Where do you start? God is more interested in your heart than in your accomplishments. By the time you lay your head on the pillow tonight, what will have mattered the most is if you did what you did for God’s glory.
The pleasures of this earth pale in comparison to the joy of seeing Jesus face to face. If you’re wondering why this life is so hard, hang in there, trust in the Lord and rest in knowing that as you deepen your love for the Father, the day is coming when God’s word will prove faithful. One day we will look back in wonder and marvel that we ever feared or questioned God’s goodness.
The Christian life has always been about trust. We’re to trust our Father’s provision. We’re to rest in our Father’s presence. We’re to look for our Father’s protection. The only guarantee we’re given is the guarantee of our resurrected Jesus. Because he is risen, we can rest knowing that our God can do anything.
If you’re finding yourself at a crossroads today, don’t fret. Don’t panic. Don’t question the road. Instead, look up. Hang on to God’s promises and wait for His next direction.
